Yarmouth Hospital Foundation salutes Shoppers Drug Mart customers and employees
Thanks to the generosity of Shoppers Drug Mart customers and employees in Yarmouth, more than $8,000 has been raised to benefit the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation’s 7th annual Christmas Appeal.
This fall over 1,090 Shoppers Drug Mart/Pharmaprix stores across the country participated in the seventh annual Tree of Life fundraising campaign designed to support local and national charities. Since its inception the campaign has raised over $9 million helping to improve the quality of life for Canadians. In Yarmouth, 100% of the proceeds raised by Shoppers Drug Mart customers and employees was donated to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation for the purchase of two new radiant infant warmers for the maternal child unit.
For the second year in a row Shoppers Drug Mart in Yarmouth was the leading fundraiser ($8,104) for the chain of stores in Atlantic Canada. “The tremendous efforts of Shoppers Drug Mart helped to ensure the success of the Foundation’s annual appeal. We’re honoured to be chosen as the local recipient of the Tree of Life proceeds.” said Paulette Sweeney-Goodwin, YHF managing director.
“The amazing results of this year’s campaign would not have been possible without the generosity and commitment of our customers and staff”, said Christianne Land, Associate Pharmacist/Owner. Shoppers Drug Mart is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Canadians by promoting health and wellness through the services and consultation we offer and by giving back to community-based health initiatives. This year we have selected the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation and are pleased to present to them the proceeds from our Tree of Life Campaign”
